Healthy Montana Kids (HMK) Application Information

The healthy Montana Kids program is a state sponsored program that provides health coverage to financially disadvantaged kids in the state. This program is beneficial in the sense that its members have access to services such as:

  • Eye care and vision exams
  • Dental services
  • Medical prescription and other health services

In order to qualify for the problem the applicant is subjected to a set of eligibility requirements. Among these requirements is the financial eligibility requirement which Is based on the kid's family household gross income. Unlike other similar programs the Health Montana Kids program is not pegged on the amount of assets or resource that the individual has.

Once you have forwarded your application, you wait for it to be processed and once you have been admitted to the program you will access to all of the services offered by the program. However it should be noted that the Healthy Montana Kids program does not pay for any health expenses incurred in the period prior to acceptance into the program.

Eligibility Requirements

For one to qualify for the Montana healthy kids program he or she must meet a specified set of eligibility requirements, these are highlighted below:

  • The applicant should be below 19 years of age
  • The applicants should be a resident of Montana
  • The applicant should be a US citizen or a legal alien

There are several methods through which one can apply for the Montana healthy kids program. These include:

Online Application

This is a simple and convenient application method that is increasingly being preferred by applicants. By using an online application, you can fill the application form from the convenience of your home or any other suitable place at any time that you prefer. The online application process is flexible in the sense that you can decide to stop at a particular point when filling it and be able to resume from where you left the next time you access the form.

Paper/Physical Application

Another application method is that of filling a paper application. This can be obtained at your nearest department of health and Human service offices. By visiting these offices you will not only be able to acquire the application forms but you will also be able to get application advice from the Healthy Montana Kids representatives present at the offices. These representatives have a thorough understanding of the healthy Montana kid's application process and thus will be able to advice you appropriately with regards to your application.

Once you have received the forms and have made all the necessary enquiries, you should start filling the application form making sure not to skip any questions asked in the application form, because any incomplete applications are immediately rejected. On completion you should submit the forms at the department of Public Health and Human services either personally or via mail.
